Week 5

       Students' choice

We have worked with students' choice at Thursday. We are done and we going  to write in which  we want to have. On the student choice we have a choice between picture, wood and metal craft, sewing craft, history and story writing.

Presentation of inventors!

This week we finely finished the inventor project.

We chose one invention that we thought was important for the world.

Then we had to search on the internet for 

information. 

After that we did a presentation of everything.

                                                  Individual Development  plantalk

We had development talks on Monday and Wednesday. We had to check on things that we want to improve or check if we  have done wrong or what we have become better at things. We've talked about things we can do at home. For example read books at home.One can also talk about what you do not enjoy at school , for example toilets are not so clean.

Angles 👉 straws

We used straws to create shapes. We then used a protractor to measure the angles of the shapes.  
This is how we did it: First we placed the straws kind of random on the paper one by one and drew them on the paper. 
That makes a bunch of strange shapes. And then we figured out the ✌️angle sum✌️on every single shape. 

                                  Snow water and ice

           This week we had a homework when we going

          to do a experiment. First we going outside and filed 

           up a glass with snow then we take the glass inside

          and then we let the snow stand 

          overnight next to a element. The next morning 

         it was melted. We marked the water surface with

         washi tape or something else. Then we put the water in 

         the freezer overnight again. The next morning we looked

         if there was a different between how much higher or 

         lower the surface was. We drew it when it was snow

         and also when it was water and ice.

       

  Arn

Arn is a tv-series that is about a boy named Arn. He lives in the Middle Ages. He grew up as a monk but later in his life he became a temple knight  when the older monks saw how good he was at archery and sword fighting. Then he met a girl that he fell in love with.  When they're going to get married they get banned from where they lived for 20 years and Arn got sent to The Holy Land, Jerusalem. Cecilia (the girl) got sent to a monastery as a nun.

          Football field closed

Now like a week ago the football field has been closed and that's had disappointed a lot of people.

It's dangerous to be there because it's covered with ice and you can easy fall on the field.

                                                    ~ THE LITTLE RIDERS ~

We have done some covers to our The Little Riders book. Before that we read the book during  English time. On the cover we had to draw something that was special about the book. We got a paper and answer some questions about traditions.  We have read four chapters and it's really interesting. The book is really good and you learn a lot of facts about Amsterdam and how it was. Margaretha Shemin has written the book.

IDP Talks

Next week we are having our IDP talks. We going to talk about our school work. We also going to talk about the concentration in class,it's going to be a small talk because we already had it  before the Christmas break.

Europe Test

This week we have do a test about Europe country's. We would learn 37 countries and their capitals. We got one week at us to learn them. We studied hard, and several in the class practiced with each other. We also learned where they are.

Europe train trip

In Social Studies (SO) we had worked with Europe. We had pretended to go on a train trip in Europe. In every country we had read and wrote about the country. Like popular sights, facts about the country etc.

Now we had finished it!✨ We think it was really fun to work with! 

Math test

In the week we had a math test and the test there were fractions 

division, addition and subtraction. A task Was there are 12 animals in a pasture horses were half a quarter were pigs how many sheep there were. And another was that they would put out fractions on a number line

week 3

   The Terror Attack in Paris

Last Wednesday a terror attack happened in Paris, a magazine publisher of  satire pictures was the target and 12 people were killed. At the same time a third man took 15 people hostage in a Jewish grocery store. The man threathened the police that if they would storm the building he would kill all of his hostages. The police stormed both buildings and the terrorist at the grocery store got shot, so were his companions at the publisher. Now the most wanted person in France is the grocery store's terrorist's girlfriend,  who is also  on the run with her new baby.

     

SUBMARINE

In October 31 2014 some people saw a Russian submarine between Waxholm and Nacka. A submarine is a boat that is under water. The Swedish army is still looking for the Russian submarine.

Start of school

Welcome back to the new term!

We start the school 8/1-15 and it's been fun so far.

And we need to finish with Europe, short stories and inventions.  We will start with the Middle Ages and angles.              

Arn

We have watched the first part of a movie called Arn. It's about a boy living In the Middle Ages.  In the first part he falls out of a tree house, and his parents make a promise with god. If god lets Arn live, god would get Arn's body in exchange. Arn is sent away to a monastery. Time passes and Arn becomes an adult, and the first part of the movie ends with Arn getting out of the monastery. 

Inventions

We chose between inventions that were useful for humans. For exemple: cellphone, watch... Students who chose the same invention worked together. First we wrote a text about the chosen invention.  Then we drew a picture about the chosen invention. After that we explained and wrote why the chosen invention is important. Then we are going to have a presentation in front of the class about the chosen invention. 

The Little Riders

In English class we started to read a book named The Little Riders. It's about a girl named Johanna and she was in the Second World War and the nazist invaded their city in Holland. She lives with her grandmother and grandfather when her parents were on the sea.
